Benjamin Ang

Benjamin Ang
Founder, Genesis Motion Design | Forbes 30 Under 30

Born and raised in Singapore, Motion Designer Benjamin Ang worked both in Singapore and Los Angeles, California, when he noticed a disparity of approaching work and the importance of culture, between the two motion design industries. Genesis was formed in 2015, to bridge the gap by infusing a positive blend of both cultures; the Asian hustle and the open playfulness of the other. Repeatedly told impossible due to the local social norms of overworking, over-competitiveness and hierarchies, which till this day, is his motivation to prove others wrong and that a balance is still possible if entrepreneurs embrace the persistence to try. Genesis is now 12 strong and humbled to be internationally recognised (ie, Webby Award Nominee, W3 Awards Best of Show, idN Magazine) and does work for international brands such as Facebook, McDonald’s, Disney, Riot Games, Razer, ASUS, MSI, etc. Benjamin pursues giving back to the design community by giving talks in regional design events (ie, Graphika Manila, Halography Vietnam), YouTube channels (ie, The Futur) and schools. He also curates high-quality work on the Motion Designers Community’s Facebook. He was honoured to be selected in Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2020 (Media, Marketing & Advertising category) and featured on prestigious websites such as Entrepreneur and Vulcan Post.
