What is the Re:Play Rookie Game Jam?
Re:Play Rookie Game Jam is a new initiative by *SCAPE aimed at nurturing aspiring game developers to kickstart their journey in the industry through creating innovative game prototypes. 

When is the jam period?
The Call For Entries for the Rookie Game Jam will be conducted from 8 May 2023 to 7 June 2023. Participants will need to produce and submit a game prototype by 7 June 2023. The shortlisted teams will have to prepare for the Final Showcase which will be assessed by the panel of judges for the final judging round. The award winners will be announced at the end of the Final Showcase.

Who can take part in the Rookie Game Jam?
This competition is open to all Singaporeans and Permanent Residents (PRs) aged 15 to 35 (before 31 December 2023), residing in Singapore at the time of submission. 

What are the genres qualified to submit for the Rookie Game Jam? 
All genres are accepted, as long as they are mindful of social, racial and religious sensitivities, conforming to IMDA guidelines and such other relevant guidelines as specified by *SCAPE from time to time. 



How many entries can I submit?
Each Applicant/Team is allowed to submit one (1) entry. 

Can I work with someone to produce my game prototype?
Yes, preferably up to a maximum of five (5) pax per team. However, if a team is chosen as a winner, prizes will be given to the person who submits the project. The submitter is responsible for dividing or sharing the prize money. 

What language can I submit my game entry in?
All entries must be in the English language. 

How can I proceed to enter the Rookie Game Jam?
All registration are required to be submitted through here. All registrants or team members are required to join *SCAPE Discord server to access the mentors and start jamming. 

Do I have to pay a fee in order to participate?
There are no entry fees required to participate in this game jam. 



When is the deadline for registration?
Submission deadline is 2359hrs (GMT +8) on 7 June 2023.



Who are the judges? 

Please refer to the *SCAPE website ( for more information when these details are released at a later date. 

What is the judging process like? 

There will be two (2) rounds of judging; preliminary and final. All submissions that meet the requirements set out in the Rules and Terms and Conditions will be evaluated at the preliminary judging round whereby *SCAPE and SGGA will shortlist up to 10 teams to proceed to the next round. 

Shortlisted teams will have to prepare for the Final Showcase. The game prototype will be assessed by the panel of judges for the final judging round and the judges will select two (2) award winners. 

When will I know if my game entry has been shortlisted? 

Shortlisted Teams will be contacted in the second week of June via the contact details as provided in the online submission form. 



What are the prizes for the winners?

When is the Winners Announcement? 

The winners for the Rookie Game Jam will be announced on Sunday 25 June 2023 (TBC). More details will be released at a later date. 

Will the shortlisted teams be required to attend the winners announcement?
Yes, all shortlisted teams are encouraged to take part in the Winners’ Announcement event.
