Somerset Threads: Out with The Researcher!

Inspired by the rich history of communities that once resided in this area, Somerset Threads is a live-action theatrical experience that will take visitors on a captivating journey, showcasing murals that capture the “coming-of-age” experience that will resonate with everyone. This inaugural and interactive experience by young theatre collective Strawberries Inc brings the murals, by artists such as ANTZ and Eunice Lim, to life through combined efforts of storytelling with exploration of the district. The event will also include gamified elements to a deeper engagement between the artwork and the viewer, making the Somerset Threads a dynamic and unforgettable experience.

Khoo Ee Hoon harnesses her historical knowledge to give you a tour of the Somerset Belt and its many landmarks. As a participant, you will be given a disposable film camera as you re-discover Somerset and learn what it looks like through your eyes.

Artist: Khoo Ee Hoon Khoo Ee Hoon

Khoo Ee Hoon is a theatre professional by training and a researcher by accident. She has worked on many theatre productions as a stage manager and technical director, where her dramatic endeavours nurtured an inquisitiveness to always explore, learn and create. She currently researches on the deathscapes of Singapore, specialising in Bukit Brown Cemetery and the Japanese Cemetery Park.
