[Saturday Spotlight] Somerset Threads: Out with The Researcher!

4:00 pm

Around Somerset Belt District (including Tong Sian Tng Temple, TRIFECTA Singapore and The Heeren)

Somerset Threads brings together murals by artists such as ANTZ, Eunice Hannah Lim, TOBYATO, and Boon Bake, alongside a sculptural installation by visual artist Victor Emmanuel — transforming the Somerset Belt District into a living canvas of memory, architecture, and culture. Rooted in the area’s rich history and distinctive urban landscape, this showcase invites you to engage with the stories that have shaped the district’s evolving identity.
Join us for a special walking tour led by researcher Khoo Ee Hoon, where you’ll uncover the hidden layers of Somerset’s past through its landmarks and architectural heritage. Each participant will receive a disposable film camera to capture the journey — documenting Somerset through your own unique lens.
Somerset Threads is part of Open Design Dialogue (ODD), presented during Singapore Design Week 2025, and is proudly supported by 111 Somerset and TRIFECTA Singapore.
Registration Venue: *SCAPE Level 5 at 3.45pm

Somerset Threads

Somerset Threads is an immersive experience that transforms the streets of the Somerset Belt District into an urban canvas of stories, brought to life through art, storytelling, and exploration.

Featuring murals by artists such as ANTZ, Eunice Hannah Lim, TOBYATO, and Boon Bake, as well as a sculpture installation by visual artist Victor Emmanuel, the district becomes a walkable gallery — where every wall is a canvas and every corner holds a story waiting to be uncovered.

Inspired by the rich history of the communities that once called this area home, Somerset Threads invites visitors on a journey that reflects the universal “coming-of-age” story — a celebration of identity, place, and growth. It’s an invitation to see Somerset not just as a space, but as a living canvas woven with memories, histories, and endless possibilities.

Built with interactive and gamified elements, Somerset Threads encourages visitors to look beyond the surface — to connect with the stories behind the murals and the spaces they inhabit.
