*SCAPE x ITE: Music Day Out Roadshow

The *SCAPE x ITE Music Day Out Roadshow is a platform for ITE bands, singer-songwriters, and rappers to showcase their talent.

As part of comma Creative Arts Festival, Music Day Out is a *SCAPE showcase of emerging independent artists. Music Day Out is devoted to cultivating a thriving community by fostering the growth of independent artists and engaging with (or supporting) passionate indie music lovers with musical knowledge, appreciation and artistry. Music Day Out is happening as part of the comma Creative Arts Festival on 13 and 14 January 2024. More info on comma can be found here.

LINEUP

Regina

REGINA SONG

Regina Song is a 19 year-old songwriter from Singapore. Her upcoming album, “fangirl”, explores themes of her experiences growing up as a teen girl in the sunny state. Her quirky charm and unabashed songwriting, coupled with lofty ambition to take on the global music scene makes the young artist one to watch. Growing up in a Singaporean-Chinese family, Regina grew up listening to a mix of American, Mandarin and Korean pop music while picking up instruments to jam along to her favourite songs. Her first single with the label PARKA, “high school boy” has already amassed 400,000 streams on Spotify in just a couple months after gaining widespread attention on Regina’s TikTok account. With her striking personality and indisputable knack for writing music, Regina is poised to become music’s next sweetheart.

Layyi Press

LAYYI

LAYYI is a zennial from sunny Singapore who has a soulful Ari-like tone of voice and makes a sweet combination of Pop, R&B and singer-songwriter tunes with her guitar. With a flare for speaking her truth through music, she broke into the music scene in 2019 with a bang along with her pop trio band HE1ST which has 2 successful releases garnering about 133,000 streams in total on Spotify, and have hit significant milestones like performing at the IGNITE! Music Festival in their first year and being covered in The Straits Times newspaper. Her first release as a solo artist titled “Hey Love”, has currently 1.2 million streams on Spotify and has built up an audience of a whopping 113,000 monthly listeners per month with only a few releases so far. She’s also graced the stage of Baybeats 2022, IGNITE! Music Festival, Lasalle RIF, Lasalle’s Fleeting Feelings Fest and Majulah Holiday as a solo act.

Fuse

FUSE

Fuse formed as a 5-piece hardcore punk band from Singapore back in 2016 and released a promo the following year. “This Segregation Will End” a 9-song debut LP released in 2020 through Quality Control HQ based in the UK. After a hiatus, they came back with a 2-song promo in July 2023, revealing the new sound they have been working on.

Intermission

INTERMISSION

Founded in 2019, Intermission is a Singaporean post-punk outfit that has quickly risen to prominence with their unique fusion of noise rock and post-punk influences.  Meticulously crafted with blistering post-punk tunes that are catered to your partying needs, the band is bound to capture your attention with their blend of noisy, snarky and punk-friendly clatter. Intermission hopes to provide a spiritual experience for all who are attending the programme — or as described by vocalist Iqbal Rohan, “a catharsis from modern life”.

Sleepydays, an independent musician and dedicated bedroom creator since 2018, crafts his music from the cozy confines of his room. His mission is to create indie alternative and rock melodies that resonate with his emotions and communicate his intentions to the world and beyond.

IMPULSE

IMPULSE is a five-piece alternative-rock band born in ITE College Central on 4th May 2023. IMPULSE found their common interest in music and share similar experiences in life. By coming together, with creative ideas and musicality paired with strong emotions, they created songs that tell listeners with sentimental experiences that they are not alone. Their mix of upbeat and slow rock music also bring listeners outside from alt-rock. Planning to release their first single, The Roof, the song elaborates on the emotions of a broken soul.

ICE ZACK

Ice Zack is an artist from Singapore. He focuses on Rnb/Hip-Hop to create experiences for listeners to enjoy. Ice grew up listening to a lot of music from different genres and by the age of 16, he decided that he wanted to make music. His first single ‘UNBREAKABLE JEWELS’ had a lot of his friends shocked that he wanted to walk down this path. In 2023, Ice continues to improve and make more songs. He hopes that his upcoming album, ‘WORK. LOVE. POLICY’ will bring him to new heights.
