SG60 Mural Launch: A Landmark Tribute to 60 Years of Independence

The SG60 Mural will be officially launched at *SCAPE Playspace as a centrepiece highlight of Somerset Graff Jam Vol. 3, commemorating 60 years of Singapore’s independence through the lens of street art.

Spanning a striking five-storey façade, this landmark mural brings together 51 graffiti and street artists from across generations to create one of the largest collaborative works of its kind in Singapore.

Celebrating the past, present, and future of local street culture, the mural forms a living tapestry of Singapore’s youth voices, creative identities, and collective spirit. It honours the pioneers who shaped the foundations of the local graffiti movement, while championing the energy, diversity, and innovation of today’s emerging talents.

By weaving together different eras and artistic lineages, the work reflects how Singapore’s creative landscape has grown and evolved in tandem with the nation’s journey over the past six decades.

More than just a monumental artwork, the SG60 Mural symbolises *SCAPE’s commitment to empowering youth through the arts and providing platforms for large-scale creative expression. Its launch during Somerset Graff Jam Vol. 3 marks a milestone in Singapore’s street art history, positioning the Somerset Belt as a vibrant hub where youth, heritage, and contemporary culture intersect.

About Akoustikult Jams

Akoustikult Jams started in May 2024. When Ash’s busking license was not approved, Zac, the co—founder of Kult Yard, offered the space to jam, with only one strict rule: “No covers.” He wanted to promote original thinking and ideas, bring ing back a sense of freedom like how he used to play music during his bawa block days. These jams were also our way of bring ing awareness to 1 95 Pearl’s Terrace lease situation then, an attempt to make a little noise, to connect and most importantly, to express ourselves freely.

In collaboration with Nimble Mystic, Somerset Graff Jam Vol. 3 features Super Terrific Happiness — a vibrant, playful, and immersive visual arts installation that transforms public space into a world of colour and joy.

Originally presented at Our Tampines Hub, this bold installation invites you to pause, play, and reconnect with your sense of wonder.

This edition brings the installation to Somerset Youth Park, adding a striking visual focal point that complements the energy of the live graffiti sessions and bridges art, design, and youth culture.

Bboy Cypher Dance Jam at Somerset Graff Jam Vol. 3

Feel the raw energy of street dance as Somerset Youth Park transforms into a vibrant arena of rhythm, movement, and community spirit. Watch Singapore’s top BBoys and rising youth dancers freestyle, battle, and push creative boundaries in this dynamic hip hop showcase.

Set against the backdrop of live graffiti and music, the cypher is more than a performance, it’s a celebration of resilience, self-expression, and connection within the street culture community.

Get ready for a burst of spontaneous creativity and sharp lyrical energy! The Rap Improv Showcase brings freestyle rap to life as the artist engages directly with the audience, asking three playful, thought-provoking questions and turning your answers into a live, original rap on the spot.

Blending humour, rhythm, and quick-witted wordplay, this interactive performance breaks the barrier between performer and crowd, making each session a one-of-a-kind moment shaped entirely by you.

NGS Travelling Art Cart: Woodcut  Demonstration  by  Zhang  Fuming [Collaboration  with  National  Gallery  Singapore]

The Art Cart makes its debut at Somerset Graff Jam Vol. 3, bringing the gallery experience directly to *SCAPE as part of its mission to reach new audiences and spark meaningful encounters with art among youths.

Designed as a roving art studio, the Art Cart offers an accessible, hands-on platform for visitors of all ages to explore art-making, cultural heritage, and creative experimentation.

Featured Activity: Graffiti Print Lab
Inspired by the artwork Seascape, this interactive activity invites participants to try their hand at printmaking. Create your own designs using pre-made woodblock stamps and learn about the print process through dry stamping (embossing) — fun, creative, and beginner-friendly.

Artist Showcase: Zhang Fuming
Catch artist Zhang Fuming in action as he completes a new woodblock print every 30 minutes. Watch him carve, ink, and pull prints live from a block of wood. No registration needed — just walk in and experience the magic!
