BODY SITE: A Filmic Dance Exploration with Elysa Wendi
15 April, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
*SCAPE The TreeTop

Dance Film is a hybrid art form that combines dance and filmmaking. This innovative approach explores and transforms the physical nature of both mediums by incorporating choreographic ideas to produce a new visual language that can be showcased on screen.

BODY SITE aims to facilitate an experimental space for participants to translate their perceptions of dance and filmic ideas through merging choreographic and cinematic languages. By utilising dance film as a storytelling medium, participants can reimagine the way their body and movement are depicted in relation to the image, from spatial site and the construction of content.

In the creation of dance film, it is important to understand the sensibility of embodiment and dis-embodiment. The filmmaker needs to consider the site of being in the frame of the camera, the building or specific space, and the necessity of incorporating dance or film in the creation.
