comma is a celebration of Singapore’s vibrant creative world, showcasing dance, music, and visual arts. The festival is primarily targeted towards youth aged 15-35 and offers a unique array of artistic programmes, each with its own distinct personality and charm. Whether you are into visual arts, dance, film, or music, there is something for everyone at this festival. Front-Of-House

  • No. of volunteers needed: 20
  • Time: 4pm – 10pm
  • Venue: *SCAPE The Ground Theatre, Somerset Belt

As a Front-Of-House volunteer, your role is to ensure the smooth operation of programmes and performances. Your duties may include:

  1. Ticketing scanner: Scan tickets and validate them for entry into the event. You will need to have good attention to detail and be comfortable using scanning technology.
  2. Merchandise sales: Assist with the sale of merchandise such as t-shirts, pins, and other event-related items. You will need to have strong customer service skills and be comfortable handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
  3. Counter: Provide information and assistance to patrons at various locations around the venue. This may include answering questions about the event schedule, directing people to restrooms and concession stands, and providing general assistance as needed.

 

Usher

  • No. of volunteers needed: 20
  • Time: 4pm – 10pm
  • Venue: *SCAPE The Ground Theatre, Somerset Belt

As an Usher/Festival Booklet Distributor, your primary responsibility is to welcome and direct guests to their designated areas, crowd management and distribute festival booklets. Your duties may include:

  1. Greeting guests and checking their tickets to ensure they are seated in the correct area.
  2. Handing out festival booklets and other materials to guests as they enter the venue.
  3. Answering questions and providing information about the event schedule, facilities, and services available.
  4. Assisting guests with special needs, such as wheelchair users, the elderly, or families with young children.
  5. Maintaining a calm and friendly demeanor, even in stressful situations.
  6. Reporting any issues or concerns to the appropriate staff members.
  7. Tear down (Optional): Ensure that the event venue is returned to its original state after the event is over. This may involve tasks such as packing up equipment and supplies, dismantling decorations, and cleaning the venue.

You will need to be friendly, approachable, and able to work well in a team environment. You should also be comfortable standing for long periods of time and be able to handle high-volume traffic. Excellent communication skills are a must, as you will be interacting with guests throughout the festival.

 

Festival Crew

  • No. of volunteers needed: 10
  • Time: 4pm – 10pm
  • Venue: *SCAPE The Ground Theatre, Somerset Belt

As a Festival Crew, your role is to ensure that events and festivals run smoothly. The festival crew is responsible for a variety of tasks such as event set up, logistics, stage management, and tear down. Your duties may include:

  1. Set up and logistics: Ensure that the venue is set up correctly and that all necessary equipment and supplies are in place. This may involve tasks such as setting up tables and chairs, installing decorations, etc;
  2. Show runners/Stage crew: Ensure that performances run smoothly. This may involve tasks such as setting up and testing audio and visual equipment, helping backstage, and assisting performers with equipment and props.
  3. Tear down (Optional): Ensure that the event venue is returned to its original state after the event is over. This may involve tasks such as packing up equipment and supplies, dismantling decorations, and cleaning the venue.

You will need to be able to work well in a team environment, have good communication skills, and be able to work effectively under pressure.

 

Artist Liaison

  • No. of volunteers needed: 20
  • Time: 4pm – 10pm
  • Venue: *SCAPE The Ground Theatre, Somerset Belt

As an Artist Liaison volunteer, your primary role is to ensure that artists feel welcome, comfortable, and prepared for their performances. You will be responsible for keeping track of their location and schedule, and making sure they have everything they need to perform at their best. Your duties may include:

  1. Meeting and greeting artists: You will be the primary point of contact for artists as they arrive at the event. You will need to meet and greet them, assist them with their luggage and equipment, and escort them to their accommodations or the stage.
  2. Managing artist schedules: Responsible for keeping track of the artists’ schedules and making sure they are in the right place at the right time. You may need to coordinate with other event staff, such as stage managers or production teams, to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
  3. Providing hospitality services: As part of your role, you may need to provide hospitality services to the artists, such as arranging for meals, transportation, or other special requests.
  4. Building relationships: Finally, you will be responsible for building relationships with the artists and making sure they have a positive experience at the event. This may involve networking with the artists, showing them around the event, and making sure they feel welcomed and valued.

You will need strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a friendly and professional demeanour.
