Objectives

The objective of the program is to provide a platform for drummers in (and outside) of the community to have a chance at continual learning and development. The workshop series also aims to cover topics whose resources are not easily found in other music schools (where they typically learn their craft) and comes from the experienced veterans of the industry. This series also serves as a continual support to the community and to build engagement to lead up to the medium to large sized events.

 

Target Market & Demographics

The series covers a whole range of topics including sound sculpting, live performances, maintenance techniques, mini sheds and specific skill set development. It is expected to pull in a range of audience, from beginners to intermediate and to working professional drummers as well.

Sound Sculpting Series (Recording Tips from a producer’s perspective)

Targeted group – Intermediate to advanced drummers

Fees

All workshop series will be free and open to the public for community interest.

 

Program Lineup

Skill Set Development Workshop

A highly sought after drummer in the industry will be invited to talk about including electronic sampling into the playing to cater to current Top 40s music, his challenges and his journey to finding the sound scape deemed suitable for the music he performs.

*Program segments will be adjusted accordingly to what the speaker feels is more conducive for the workshop.

Sound Sculpting Workshop

An experienced sessionist drummer/producer will be invited to talk about the different aspects of recording the drums in a studio environment and will cover topics ranging from playing (to get the correct sound), tuning, EQ, and sound sculpting in post-production.

*Program segments will be adjusted accordingly to what the speaker feels is more conducive for the workshop.
