The National Youth Film Awards (NYFA) is a national award that celebrates excellence among youth talents who are highly adept in their respective fields across the various aspects of filmmaking in Singapore. It seeks to instill a greater appreciation of film, fuel the passion for filmmaking, and generates opportunities for further development in their craft.  NYFA is an important stepping stone in these emerging filmmakers’ journey, and through it, they get to connect with industry partners and gain greater visibility, be it for festivals or commercial opportunities. To date, more than 1,800 submissions have been received across the Student and Open Youth categories.

NYFA 2021 is now open for submission! Themed “New Dawn, New Beginnings”, the 7th edition of NYFA will celebrate resilience and a new hope in a post-Covid world. The 7th edition of NYFA Conference will focus on Pivots and Platforms; Short Films in the New Normal, where we will address topics such as “Film, TV and Web, Is there A Difference Anymore?”. The NYFA Youth Inspiration Award (YIA) will continue to recognise young industry professionals who have made exemplary contributions towards the film-making industry in Singapore.

Together with industry partners, veterans, and institutes of higher learning, NYFA hopes to spark deeper conversations among like-minded individuals and hone their crafts in film-making.

All youths (aged 15-35) from both media and non-media backgrounds are encouraged to take part.
