A sister duo group, Yulin and Yuqing, hope to use this platform to help youth understand the difficulties some seniors who live alone face, and create awareness about volunteerism activities with seniors.

Through an immersive exhibition of a mock-up of a senior’s 2-room flat, we hope to create a platform for youth to understand and be aware that there are seniors who are living alone in Singapore. QR codes will be pasted on the walls of the flat. By scanning the QR codes, visitors will be able to listen to seniors anecdotes of their daily life alone at home.

There will be a main event held on 11  December 2022. During this event, visitors are expected to participate fully in the exhibition – scanning all QR codes and sharing their learnings and thoughts before and after the exhibition. Participants will then be given a cup of traditional coffee. This cup of coffee serves as a reward upon the completion of the exhibition and also allow visitors to experience a snippet of seniors enjoying a cup of coffee at home. 

To reach out to our visitors, we would include timings for guided tours through the exhibition. At the end of the exhibition, participants will be given brochures on befriending or volunteering activities with seniors. Through this, participants will have the necessary information to know where they should go to for volunteering activities.
