Many of us have a dream career we want to pursue, whether it’s being a singer or a clay artist. However, taking the first steps towards achieving that dream can be daunting. You might wonder where to begin – should you apply for jobs or take courses to develop your skills? It’s important to remember that pursuing your dream job is a journey, not a destination.

Along the way, there are countless opportunities to learn and grow. This is where the *SCAPE Career Studio programme comes in – it offers a series of carefully designed workshops to guide you as you explore and test out your career aspirations. You also get up close and personal with a host of creative professionals and dive into their career adventures firsthand.

*SCAPE Career Studio programme culminates in a unique opportunity to pitch your creative career idea to a panel of judges. This could be your chance to receive *SCAPE’s support in launching your project!

Sounds exciting? That’s not all. Gain more ideas, inspiration, and pathways on what you can do in your future career in this exciting 3-stage programme from *SCAPE Career Studio:

The programme’s first stage is all about discovering what motivates you and how you can align your interests with your career path. Through guided points of self-reflection, you’ll filter what you’re passionate about and what type of work would make you feel fulfilled.

Now that you have your goals, it’s time to show the world what you’re made of! A strong personal brand and online presence are key to standing out and making an impact. This stage breaks down personal branding must-haves and how to build an online presence to establish yourself in the industry.

Keen to take your creative idea to the next level? In the Career Discovery stage, we’ll teach you how to pitch like a boss. Whether you’re trying to sell a product, secure funding for a project, or persuade others to support your ideas, a strong pitch can make all the difference, especially for creative professionals. We’ll cover how to present your ideas, products, or services clearly, concisely, and engagingly to capture your audience’s attention and convince them of your value.

Second Stage – Choose Your Own Adventure

Learning from an experienced mentor in your field can be helpful in several ways. They can offer you insights, knowledge, and expertise you may have yet to encounter. Plus, they’ve likely faced and overcome many of the same challenges you might encounter in your career, so they can guide how to tackle them successfully.

This stage has 4 different masterclasses helmed by four Singaporean creatives doing some pretty cool stuff! Opt for one you’re most curious about, and you’ll deep dive into both the “glam” and “unglam” parts that go into building a creative career AND get to ask all your burning questions in a cosy, intimate setting. As a bonus, you’ll do a mini project with the creative during the masterclass!

Alumni of Choose Your Own Adventure include Miss Lou (singing/songwriting), Kelly Ser (fine art), Adan Jimenez and Felicia Low-Jimenez (novel writing), Suffian Hakim (fiction writing), and JJ & Ore (dance/choreography).

Following the amazing success of Fish Tank 1.0, we had to do it again this year – but even better! We spread our nets wide to find young people who needed support to make their dream project a reality. And guess what? We found them!

For the first time, Fish Tank went live this year with a panel of judges and audience. Four awesome young individuals pitched their ideas and walked away with S$1,000 in funding, networks, and resources to launch their projects! It was an incredible experience for everyone involved and we’re thrilled to see what these talented individuals will achieve in the future.

Here’s what participants said about *SCAPE Career Studio 2.0

  • “… because of [the trainers and] *SCAPE, I know that I can do both because I have resources around me and these resources exist in terms of a network of empowering individuals and tangible materials as well. It gave me a lot to think about and I realised that I’m not alone in this journey. There are people who care – like you! And that is empowering me to do more things in life.”
  • “Instructors were very passionate and shared candidly on their journey. The session was very insightful and helpful.”
  • “I was only used to pitching my projects’ animation and art sections to my classmates in school. But with the help of My Working Title and *SCAPE, I was able to improve my skills in talking about my projects to a wider audience.”
