PAST RESIDENTS TESTIMONIAL:

DANCE RESIDENCY

ABBIE REBECCA MACHIN

Resident 2021 – 2022

The residency helped me refine the skills I already have as a dancer. Ultimately, I loved the atmosphere! It felt more professional, and it forced me to overcome any insecurities I had about dancing. The residency pushed me to go through with a lot of combinations and try out certain skills that I had never attempted before. I’m extremely grateful to have had a mentor like Albert who is extremely demanding, but also knowledgeable, encouraging, and believes in his students. The residency as a whole has allowed me to understand the mechanics of my body and how much I can improve.

LEE XUE JING
Resident 2020 – 2021

The dance residency has brought together people who share the same love for dance. This energy is really comforting and contagious. It has been great sharing our thoughts, having discussions, and bouncing ideas from one another. It is also an eye-opener to learn from our mentors Adele Goh and Albert Tiong and various artistic directors and instructors from local dance companies. Personally, it has been very fulfilling working on the creation and being exposed to my fellow resident’s movement vocabulary along with opportunities to present and perform. I have learned a lot from everyone, and I am grateful for this space.
