This community art project aims to bring to light invisible battles fought, celebrate those of us who have emerged from life changing experiences and to foster dialogue on Mental Health. Digital Technologies and Fashion Co-Designing are explored as experimental Art Therapy tools to harness the power of Enclothed Cognition, and for mediation, introspection, and reinvention in Virtual Reality. Custom hyperrealistic digital avatars are constructed with the help of 3D scanning technologies and generative systems. The artist (Jamela Law, she/they) aims to create warm-hearted, celebratory and inclusive networks that promote healing and bridge interpersonal distances, one metamorphosis at a time.

Jamela Law

20231007 *scape Dance Residency Publicity Shoot.

My transdisciplinary practice often revolves around themes of culture, social justice, and the environment. I believe it is important for artists to hold multiple identities, from being a toolmaker, good listener, educator, activist and many more.

Ever curious and experimental, I am intrigued by different ways of interpreting, making and preserving. I thrive on setting precedents in the Fashion Tech and Art Therapy domain by adapting previously unseen practices.

As an outsider in many ways, I hope to redefine social constructs through creative artistic outputs, by cultivating empathy in my adopted communities. I look forward to sharing empowering narratives from our youth community, creating innovative visions and new aesthetics while pushing technological boundaries together.
